Develter Gallery

The iconic new Develter Gallery located at FCC here in Siem Reap brings together a full comprehensive collection and immersive experience to view all of Christian’s internationally acclaimed signature works from his Original Oil Painting, Limited Edition Lithograph Collections, Sculptural Series and Fashion Collection created here in this ancient cultural metropolis of Cambodia.

As part of the Opening of Develter Gallery we are launching Christian’s latest artistic masterpieces of his Mara Sculpture Collection. These works of art by Christian is a homage to Siem Reap, it’s cultural heritage, artistic influence and the local artisans where he fondly calls home.

During the pandemic Christian started this project as a way to give back to the local community of these incredibly skilled master craftsmen who found themselves without work. The freestanding works of art created by Christian have been inspired by his world acclaimed Chin Series, taking his large-scale works on canvas into the third dimension.

Each work has been meticulous carved out by a team of Khmer stone carvers building on ancient traditions and techniques going back to Angkorian times under the careful supervision of the Belgian born SE Asian artist. Bringing together a unique contemporary, multi-cultural collaborative body of work created here in Cambodia.

Each of the iconic sculptures have been created from centuries old Angkorian grey, blue and pink sandstone hand selected by the artist alongside Pierre-Andre Romano and his local master craftsmen for its incredible grain, colour and texture. The largest work located at Christian’s home studio here in Siem Reap weighs in at in at 6.9 tons created from a 18 ton boulder with the smaller works on display in the gallery. Each boulder has been carefully & ethically sourced from quarries situated in the historical Angkorian mountainous region of the Phrae Vihear province in Siem Reap, Cambodia.Develter Gallery is open : 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
